In Science we are learning all about plants and growing.  So far we have looked at trees, flowers all over the school grounds and we have done some planting.  We planted cress and were surprised that they grew without any soil.  We also planted runner beans; we were amazed how fast they grew once they got going!  We have looked carefully at the roots.  Have a look at a few of our beans.

Zoolab

Wow, we had such a fantastic time when Barry from Zoolab came to visit us.  He showed us all sorts of different animals and told us about how they behaved in Springtime.
We met Deidre the African Snail, Tracey the Tarantula, Michelle the Millipede, Sophie the Snake and Rita the Rat.
We were able to touch or hold most of the animals - Tracey preferred to stay in her box.
Have a look at some of our photos, we were really brave!

Sending a huge THANK YOU to all of the grown ups that spent their Thursday afternoon with 1M during our visit to Tesco as part of the Farm to Fork scheme.
All the children had a wonderful time.  We saw the warehouse, the fridge, the freezer, the bakery and the pizza counter.  All sorts of different foods were tried and we even had two pizzas to take back to school (we ate them during golden time on Friday!).
We wouldn't have been able to go without all the help so thank you again, we just about survived the weather!
