In Science this week we have been looking at signs of Autumn.  It was a beautiful sunny day on Monday and we had a lovely time outside!
We have looked carefully at the trees and the leaves.  We have seen some wonderful different colours like orange, red, brown and yellow.

Huge congratulations to Ollie who has won 'The Great School Meals Bake Off'.  The school cook chose his design to be the winner and it will be a dessert for the whole school on Wednesday 2nd November!
I hope there is enough for the staff as well!

Wow, what a fantastic Science lesson we had today!
We did an experiment with Skittles and water.  Ask your child to tell you all about it!
Here are some of the results!

In our Math's lessons we have been learning about addition.
We have looked at the symbols + and =.
We used cubes to make our own number sentences.
Have a look at some of our super work!

In Science this week we had a lot of fun getting measured!  We had to stand really straight against the door and Mrs Mee or Mrs Bell measured us with a piece of string.
We are going to be looking at changes over time.  In July 2017 we will measure ourselves again to see how much we have grown!

A big thank you to Miss Baker and Mrs Long who came with us on our local area walk this week.  We enjoyed looking at the different shops and hearing our echoes under the subway.

This year we are incredibly lucky to have some wonderful new apparatus on our playground.  This week we have been learning how to use the apparatus safely and we have all enjoyed ourselves (the weather has been super too!).
Please ensure that your children do not play on the apparatus before or after school.
Thank you

We are 1M.  Look how fabulous we all are!
Hello everyone!

Welcome to the new academic year 2016/17.
All of the children have settled really well into year one life and we have had a lot of fun during our first week.

Please keep checking our blog as we will keep you up-to-date with photos of things we have been doing and ways which you can continue to support your children at home.

We hope to have a very successful year and know that a strong home/school partnership will enable us to achieve this goal.

We look forward to working with you all.  Our doors are always open if you have any questions or queries.

We hope you all enjoyed the 'Mouse House' that your child brought home last night!  The children have been working hard to make strong structures that are large enough for a mouse to fit in.

We borrowed Sunny the Hamster from F2 to test some of our houses!  He had a good look in them all and we think he really enjoyed them!

Our coasters will be selling for £2 for a small one and £4 for a large one!

Our hangers will be selling for £1 for a small one (as shown in pic) and £2 for a large one.

Bracelets will be 50p each.

We also have a super football game which involves all your children and we will be offering a super prize but you'll have to wait and see for that one!

Last half term in Art, we were learning about Vincent Van Gogh.  We looked at a selection of his paintings.  At the end of the project we studied 'Starry Night' carefully and created our own version of the painting.  We used similar colours and short brush strokes.
Have a look at a few of our fabulous paintings!
